The New York Times ran a story yesterday, “Imagining Life without Oil” provoking fears about an energy crisis while leaving out the fact that oil shortageswould only affect modes of transportation, all other energy demands can be met with natural gas supplies, nuclear power and renewables. As for transportation, improving mileage efficiencies, while also relying on diesel fuels (including biodiesel) and ethanols will prolong oil reserves. The fact is — you do not have to imagine a life without oil.
