What is LEED? LEED means Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is a rating system developed by the US Green Building Council based on sustainable practices and energy efficiency.
The Stimulus Bill allocated $5.5 billion to the US General Services Administration (GSA) for green building projects. The GSA already had an environmental policy to eliminate damage to the environment by requiring LEED certification for new construction and substantial renovations.
For all you Green architects, engineers and contractors, LEED certification is a huge opportunity to obtain stimulus funding for your government projects.
