The Future is Biofuels

972948Biofuels may be the best clean energy sector investment, although it won’t be apparent until the economy recovers and oil demand increases. The International Energy Agency recently revised oil demand estimates reflecting the decreased economic viability of biofuel production due to lower prices.

However, the alternative energy strategy for the big oil companies seems to be focused on biofuels and carbon capture technology, not wind or solar power; these clean technology sectors fit better with their business model.

In February, I wrote about the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration prediction of increased biofuel production as the way to offset importing oil to meet increased energy demand, In March I wrote about how diesel gets better mileage and is easier to convert to biofuel in addition to the availability of innovatively designed automobiles that are biodiesel hybrids which can easily meet increased mileage efficiency standards.

The future may be in biofuels.
