Grants are administered to further NOAA’s mission goals to: protect, restore and manage the use of coastal and ocean resources through ecosystem management and understand climate variability and change to enhance society’s ability to plan and respond.  Funded proposals should help understand and predict climate change by weeks to decades timetables using quantified undertainties to make reasonable decisions; incorporate NOAAs climate projects into plans and decisions for climate sensitive sectors; and meet society’s need for weather and water information.
