Alaska Gas Pipeline Creates Jobs while Curbing Carbon Emissions

MAN032 While learning about Sarah Palin’s resignation, I picked up on the Alaska Gas Pipeline Initiative. It seems Exxon’s title to exploration was going to expire so Exxon joined with TransCanada Corp. to build a 1,700 mile natural gas pipeline from Alaska’s north slope through Alberta, Canada to transport fuel to meet industrial and residential demand in the US Midwest.

The Point Thomson field is expected to produce a 20 month supply of fuel and begin production in 2014, but supposedly drilling in the field has already begun meaning construction job opportunities are right around the corner and remember, natural gas does not emit as much carbon as other fuel sources. j0390157

Did Sarah Palin just create jobs, curb carbon emissions and increase national security through more energy independence while meeting energy demand? Probably.
